How It Works

1. Sip

Each time you are served a beverage in a reusable purple cup, you’re good to go. No deposits, no extra steps — just take a sip and enjoy your drink.

2. Return

When you are done with your cup, just drop it in any purple return bin. They’re all over town and you can find the nearest one on the map above.

3. Repeat

Next time you get a purple cup — you know the drill! Drop it off when you are done and the cup will be professionally washed, sanitized then put back to use.

Here’s to Many Happy Returns 

The Reusable Cup Project is a waste reduction initiative led by the NextGen Consortium in partnership with the City of Petaluma, CA and enabled by Muuse.

Our goal is to reduce landfill waste by replacing single-use cups with a reusable cup at no charge to the public. Returned cups will be professionally washed and sanitized before being put back into circulation for the duration of the project, which is expected to run as a trial from August 2024 to November 2024.
